Wireless Networks (Wi-Fi) is essential to operating in a school environment. The networks at The Prep are set up and tailored to our school's needs, as well as for speed and security. below you will find the three available Prep Networks, what they are for, and how to use them.
sjpschool
The sjpschool network is the primary wireless network for all faculty and staff. The network is only to be used by faculty and staff. Students and unauthorized guests are not permitted on the sjpschool network.
There is no login to access the sjpschool network. In order to access the sjpschool network, your device must be a school-owned and/or Technology Services approved device. All Prep laptops and computers are configured to connect to sjpschool automatically. If your school-issued device is having problems connecting to sjpschool, please contact Technology Services.
If you are prompted with a login screen after attempting to join sjpschool, the device you are using has not been authorized by Technology Services. Please contact Technology Services for further assistance.
Can my personal device be added to the sjpschool network?
For security reasons, Technology Services limits the devices that are given access to the sjpschool network. We recommend all personal devices, including smartphones, use the sjpguest network.
sjpguest
The sjpguest network is the recommended network for all non-school-issued devices as well as for any guests to the school. The network is password protected. Please contact Technology Services if you or a guest would like network access on a non-school-issued device and a password can be provided.
sjpchromebook
The sjpchromebook network is a network specifically for use by the student-issued Chromebooks. This network is not for any other school-owned devices, personal devices, or guests. All Chromebooks are automatically added to this network. If a student is having trouble accessing the sjpchromebook network, please send them to Technology Services.
